Printing
Can you print right to the edges of the paper, particularly the background colour?
This is referred to as “bleed edges”. The key to this is that when putting together an artwork, you must add an extra 3mm outside the print area, so we can print oversize, then trim to the required dimension. Example: A4 leaflet 297 x 210 mm with bleed edges all round – artwork must be sent 303 x 216 with extra 3mm border to each side. The alternative is to make a 5 or 10mm white gutter round the artwork so the whole artwork fits neatly within the A4. If in doubt, give us a call and we can talk through the alternatives.
Will my finished job be the same colour as I can see on my PC monitor screen?
Unfortunately, not necessarily, particularly if you have experimented with obscure colours. Your pc monitor will not have been set up to reflect exact, true colours. If a specific colour is required, a pantone reference should be given.
